Carpet Cleaning Question!!?
Hey! I just purchased a Hoover Steam Vac (it works amazingly!!). I’ve been doing my living room in thirds because I live in an appartment and I have to rearrange the furniture to make a “clear path” for the carpet to be cleaned. However, there is one piece of furniture I really can’t move (it’s incredibly heavy). Would it be okay to go around it with the steam vac and like use the hand held attachment around it? Or should I ideally find someone to help me move it? Also, if I do have to move it, how soon can it be moved back? Do you have to put foil under it (its wood) to prevent staining (I don’t know if that’s true or not)
Also, my carpet is a dark green color, if that matters…ha!
Also – I used the bottle of Hoover Deep Cleaning that came with the steam vac, but its all used up. Stores around here only seem to carry resolve, oxy, and bissell carpet cleaners – any suggestions on good ones that don’t have a lot of perfumes?

Okay, I did get the furniture moved (asked a neighbor to help), and steam cleaned that area and did several extra dry sweeps to get up excess water….how long should I wait to move the furniture back? How can you tell if carpet is REALLY dry – is dry to the touch really indicative of this?
Red Juice Disaster On Carpet…help?
My daughter spilt red juice on our carpet yesterday and I have tried tirelessly to get it out, but have not been successful. I have tried stain remover, Resolve and a steam cleaner. I have the frieze carpet and it seems to remain at the bottom of the strands only…it has come out of the top of the strand. Is there anything you could recommend to get to the bottom of the strand and lift the rest of the juice out of the carpet. It is brand new carpet. It seems to look like a pink spot in the middle of the room. Any suggestions?????? Desperately in need of some ways to clean this. I have already steam cleaned it 3 x yesterday and soaked it with the cleaners. I have scrubbed, blotted and dabbed……A huge thanks for some ideas on how to clean up this mess.
100% Silk Dress With Wrinkles, Help Please :)?
I don’t have time to go to the dry cleaners, we are leaving tommorow for a cruise and i just borrowed the dress from a friend. It has wrinkles at the bottom. I wasn’t sure about ironing because it is silk, i don’t want to risk something ruining the dress. I also heard something about steaming it while you are in the shower?
Sanitize Entire Apartment?!?
I’m interested in an apartment where the previous tenant let their cats go wild! The odor is pretty bad. If I take the place I would have2 weeks to clean it out before moving in. Would it be best to use a professional, or some of the cleaners I’ve found online? Is there something I can spray with one of those bug/fertilizer hand sprayers or something I can use with a steam cleaner?

We had them refinished a couple of months ago with a chemical treatment, so I can not use my steam mop anymore, I dislike the smell of pinesol and it leaves a residue, I used soap and water and it left a residue and I didn’t put that much in it, but I do need some thing that does kill germs I have two little ones.
