Can You Use Laundry Detergent With Water In Steam Cleaners?

i have never used a steam claner and i just bought one for my suit, this is the steam cleaner for clothing/drapers and such. its a conair brand. i was reading the instructions and no where in it did it say mix water with laundry detergent it just said use water, am i supposed to use detergent?

    no, perhaps a tad of salt to help make the steam…no detergents, none

    when i wash my carpets i add a little just to help clean an freshen up….(and it smells lush!)your not supposed to, as this can block the lines, but im sure alittle bit doesnt harm ,the heat should dissolve it anyway

    No, the steam itself will do the job for you. Would not want to ruin a steamer by adding anything to the water.
    I use my Shark steamer a lot. Use only tap water.
