I Have A Stainless Gas Cooktop, And There Are Brown Rings On The Stainless Around The Burners?

I have tried everything to clean this, but alas to no avail. I even tried one of those steam-cleaners, but that didn’t work either. Are there any other ways I might try to clean my stainless steel cooktop and make it look nice again ?

I had the same problem…..I use comet and a little water it came off so much easier than using any of the MANY other products I wasted my money on and it was super cheap!

    EZ Off

I use dishwashing detergent such as cascade.

  • a paste made from baking soda and water orKosher salt and water should help yopu. It is a mild abrasive. Also easy off oven cleaner works well- just have a fan going to disperse the fumes.

The only thing that worked on my cooktop was Kleen King aluminum and stainless steel cleaner. It is really cheap in the dish aisle in the grocery store and it even got off some of the burnt on food overspills when nothing else worked.

    mean green works for me

rub some straight dishwashing liquid on it, then turn on the burner on high for about 1 minute…then wash it off while its still warm!

    Try oven cleaner

I USED A ‘DRY’ SCOTCH BRITE SCRUBBER AND SCRUBED IN LITTLE CIRCLES UNTIL IT WAS GONE. I KNOW IT SOUNDS CRAZY BUT I WAS DESPERATE AND TRIED IT. COMET, SOAP, CLEANERS AND WATER JUST DIDN’T DO THE JOB. THE BROWN STUFF IS COOKED ON FOOD, ETC, AND WATER STAINS. DON’T PUT ANY WATER ON, JUST USE A LOT OF ELBOW GREASE AND IT WILL ‘SAND’ IT OFF SO TO SPEAK, BUT IT WON’T HURT THE FINISH. THIS WILL GET ANY WATER SPOTS, TOO. AFTER YOU GET IT OFF THEN CLEAN IT WITH ANYTHING, DRY IT AND SHINE IT UP. MY COOK TOP ALREADY HAD A SATIN FINISH SO IT DIDN’T HURT THE FINISH AND THIS WORKED GREAT. STAINLESS STEAL IS VERY TOUGH AND TAKES A LOT OF ABUSE. TEST IT ON A SPOT UNDER THE BURNER COVER TO SEE HOW IT WILL DO ON YOURS.
